The DP World Tour stays in the Middle East for the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, the opening Rolex Series event of the season, where Rory McIlroy returns as defending champion and looking to win the event for a record fourth time.

McIlroy finished runner-up at last week's Dubai Invitational to Tommy Fleetwood, who joins Tyrrell Hatton and major champion Brian Harman in a strong field at Emirates GC.

The PGA Tour moves to California for The American Express, held across three courses in La Quinta, with world No 1 Scottie Scheffler and former FedExCup champion Patrick Cantlay among those in action.

Charley Hull, Leona Maguire and Maja Stark are part of a strong European contingent involved at the LPGA Tour's season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, where only winners from the past two seasons get to feature.

There's also the Latin America Amateur Championship, held in Panama, where the winner will gain entry to The Masters and The Open later this year.
